James Baker Bio
With over 50 years in the music industry, James is a seasoned lead and rhythm guitarist, as well as a dynamic vocalist. James has performed in numerous bands, including four years with Mr. Wizard out of Eugene Oregon, in a wide range of venues.
James has honed an exceptional ability to captivate audiences with skillful guitar work, and strong vocal ability. Whether performing in intimate settings or on large stages, James brings passion and energy to every performance.
Jon Soliz bio
-is a seasoned guitarist whose passion for music ignited at 16 when he picked up his first guitar in the 1980s—and he hasn’t put it down since. Just three months after strumming his first chords, Jon was already performing in public, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey in music.
Over the years, he has worn many hats, from musician and songwriter to sound engineer, leaving a lasting impact on the local music scene. As a dedicated music teacher, Jon has inspired countless students, many of whom still play today.
He was a founding member of several local bands, including No Fear and 2nd Adam, and later found success with Sifted, which placed third in Bend’s Last Band Standing competition in 2011. Known for his love of vocal harmonies, tight guitar rhythms, and electrifying solos, Jon always emphasizes that it’s not just about technical skill -it’s about playing what fits the song and making sure the joy of music shines through.
For Jon, it’s all about the music, the moment, and the power of creating sound that truly connects with others.
Neal Girard bio- drums/percussion/vocals
Neal’s interest in drums started in grade school, playing along with Beatles tunes on his first snare drum. He acquired a full kit in his teens, developing his technique with classic rock influences like Yes, ELP, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, The Who, Grand Funk, etc.
He has been holding down the rhythm section and adding background harmonies in Central Oregon for 25+ years – you might have heard him playing with Freefall of The Substitutes. Stop by and say hi at the next Cover City gig!
Rob Fob Fincham – Bassist & Vocalist
Rob Fincham brings decades of musical experience, soul, and rhythm to the stage as both a bassist and vocalist. His journey began early, singing the lead role of Amahl in the beloved opera Amahl and the Night Visitors at just 12 years old. A classically trained cellist through high school, Rob’s foundation in orchestral music laid the groundwork for a versatile and expressive musical style.
In the 1980s, Rob was a driving force in the progressive rock cover band Tracer, known for electrifying performances at iconic Bend, Oregon venues like Deschutes Station and Bogey’s. With his dynamic bass playing and powerful vocals, Rob helped shape a unique sound that left a lasting mark on the local music scene.
When he’s not making music, Rob enjoys time outdoors, especially golfing and skiing. Whether on stage or on the mountain, Rob brings energy, precision, and passion to everything he does.
