Pina Colada is a dynamic duo bringing the smooth sounds of yacht rock
and the energetic vibes of pop rock from the 70s and 80s to life. The band
features Joe “Pina” Plass on bass guitar and lead and background vocals,
and Scott “Colada” Boyd on guitar and lead and background vocals.
With a shared passion for the golden era of rock and Soul, Joe and Scott
blend their talents to create a nostalgic yet fresh musical experience. Their
performances are a delightful journey through time, filled with the timeless
hits and deep cuts that defined a generation. Whether it’s the mellow
grooves of yacht rock or the catchy hooks of pop rock, Pina Colada delivers
a captivating show that leaves audiences wanting more.
Joe Plass has been a long-time touring musician and Smooth Jazz solo
artist recording and performing with some of the biggest names in that
genre. Over the years Joe has also recorded and/or shared the stage with
many top artists including: Kenny G, Shock, Tower of Power, The
Commodores, Michael McDonald, James Brown, Tina Turner, Gladys
Knight, Stanley Clark and George Benson to name a few. He has lived in
Bend, Oregon for the past 23 years, having moved from Portland, Oregon,
in 2001. Joe also played in a very successful jazz fusion/funk/R&B band in

Scott Boyd has been playing professionally for many years and has toured
and recorded with numerous national acts. From the likes of Fantasy
Records R&B band Shock to show band featured performer for Perfect
World Entertainment. His extensive experience and versatile guitar skills
bring a unique edge to Pina Colada’s sound.
